Our philosophy of local buying is shared from our delivery drivers to CEO, David Van Seters. We are so committed to buying locally that we calculate the distance each item travels from farm to fork, known as "food miles". We then provide this information to our customers so they can make an informed choice about buying more locally. No other grocery retailer buys as locally as we do. We’re also continuing our strong tradition of protecting the environment by buying organic, minimally packaged and eco-friendly products, and delivering them in reusable grocery bins. By delivering groceries on a set route, we’re also able to reduce traffic and pollution created from individual grocery store trips. The company provides a further social benefit by saving precious time for customers and by donating surplus food to outreach groups and local charities.
